A fee charged by a healthcare professional for a telephone consultation is a qualified medical expense with a flexible spending account (FSA), health savings account (HSA) or a health reimbursement arrangement (HRA). Telephone consultation reimbursement for vision or dental services may be eligible with a limited-purpose flexible spending account (LPFSA). Telephone consultation is not eligible with a dependent care flexible spending account (DCFSA).
Telephone for Hearing Impaired Individual
Eligible
A telephone for a hearing impaired person to enable them to communicate more effectively than regular telephone is eligible with a flexible spending account (FSA), health savings account (HSA) or a health reimbursement arrangement (HRA), and only for the excess cost over a regular phone. Telephone for hearing impaired individual reimbursement is not eligible with a limited-purpose flexible spending account (LPFSA) or a dependent care flexible spending account (DCFSA).
